It takes me a long time to complete a truck...

Post by Drive2Survive »

...and I do not usually bother to start on one... unless it takes a long time to complete.

That's a little Lord Of The Rings reference for you, but seriously, I've had plans for making a whole stack of things for well over a year that I'm just now getting around to finishing (or in some cases starting). Case in point here... it was always my intention after making my new Falcon ute models to do a stack of repaints and custom trucks with them, but I'm only now getting around to what I thought I'd have a year or two ago...

Anyway, I got some new trucksies done. Hope you like'm.

True Blue:
This one is an old design, some may remember the old beta version I put out nearly two years ago (which I see somehow found it's way onto MTM2.COM's truck pages)... I was having all sorts of problems with the paint scheme I was trying to do, finally nailed down a new paintjob just before NYE '03.

Boyd Coddington XRod:
This is a 'replica' of the 1999 'XRod' showcar by Boyd Coddington... I originally intended just to do something simple but went way overboard on the detail, virtually doubled the vert count of the basic body (1900, the highest I've ever gone).
You gotta try this one on Mal's Ragin' Cajun track... it's sweeeet like caaaandy...

Falcon Unbelievable:
This one is also 'replica' of a real vehicle, a Ford Motor Co. owned XR8 utility that sported a custom paint job. I carefully reproduced that paint on this truck, and if you think it looked hard, yes it was. I hope you agree the end result looks great... but geez, the things I put myself through... lol

Hey leg, there's some new parts on my website if you want 'em for the scrapyard.

Hey Phin, for some reason the pics didn't upload on those last two, could you add them for me?

I should probably see about chipping in some pics for the rest of my trucks that are here without them...

Are you kidding, I was looking at these last night on your site and was on the verge of adding them when I called it a night.

I love the orange, white, and purple crate. Great stuff "Big D" That thing just needs some killer wheels for it. That one is a sweet ride man. Beautiful Choice.

"These"? Well, True Blue has been there since new year's, but the three of them collectively had only been there for no more than two hours at the time your post was made. Is this saying something about the hours you keep? 10 minutes sleep then back to the site eh?

Does it have to be exactly 640x480, or is that just the upper limit? I have large (some very large) pics for most of my trucks on my site, which I could splice into smaller images for each truck. Unfortunately, they are almost all in software mode, so I'm trying to decide whether I want to use them or take new pics.

Eh? I spent two days drawing the killer wheels that are already on it!
But really, if you want to change it to suit your own tastes, go ahead my friend :)

Yes, probably. Either that, or a propensity for exaggeration :P

No, the truck page auto fits the image size. A nifty trick if I do say so myself. I'll send an email in a few so you can gauge things yourself.

Now that Falcon Unbelievable truck really rock. If it drive as good as it look, we should be able to shave an extra 10 seconds out of any 30 sec lap lmao. That one is awesome buddy.

The Falcon model you built is the reason I put your 'early' test mules up for display at track shots months and months ago... The killer paint jobs you put on it is just icing on the cake imo, and there be some awesome 'Unbelievable' paint jobs on dem 'roos :o)

Great stuff D2S... cheers!

Did I write that? sorry D2S, I've been under some heavy medication lately to treat an inflamed nervous twitch so the sarcasm is only a temporary condition unlike some. lol
