Act-Labs wheel

Post by Kdawg »

I have an act-labs wheel/pedals, and was hoping somebody could help me with the problems I am having. It is an act-labs force rs.

According to act-labs website, their product doesn't work well with HP/Compaq computers. HP's/Compaq's seem to use IRQ, which links certain devices to other devices. The usb's are linked to the modem, and it says on act-labs to disable the modem if you do not use it.

So I found it, but I cannot disable it. I am able to change the IRQ numbers but it changes all that are linked to that device as well. Is there anybody familiar with the IRQ system, that could help me disable it so my wheel works? Thanks for any help.

Go the motherboard manual? You'll have to change the irq settings either by using jumpers on the board itself or in the system bios. The manual should tell you which.

Somehow I never noticed this post and wondered if you still had that Act-Labs wheel. That was the first wheel I bought my wife, and contrary to the glowing reiviews it got, I wasn't all that impressed with it. I was wondering what your experience has been . . . and if you ever got it to work.

He accidently static discharged on the motherboard in that comp...
The comp I built by ordering parts is what he uses now... He went and installed all his stuff on it this week while I was on vacation and he said it all went in perfectly and works fine.

I think it did work before, but only on like 2 games. From what I hear it works fine now on games. I personally haven't used a wheel for a while... keyboard works hassle free ;)
