MotorBoatMadness (Boats) by MBMer

Post by Phineus »

This should NOT have been uploaded. It's the same pack uploaded here only the uploader didn't bother to podzip it.

http://cownap.com/~trucks/trucks.cgi?s=powerboats

These same boats are also included in onan's pack

http://mtm2.com/~trucks/trucks.cgi?s=power+boat+pack

The new upload will be removed in deference to the originals.

Perhaps you should put some text on the upload pages stating that one should NOT upload an item unless they are the author, or have specific permission from the author to upload them.

it should also state that the author's name should be placed in the "maker" box, and not the name of the person uploading it.

I know it won't stop everyone from doing so, but it might stop a few folk who are unaware of such a procedure from uploading someone else's stuff without permission.

This happens from time to time. Surprisingly not as much as it used to. And there was a guy a few weeks ago who uploaded his own because he didn't realize we'd saved it. Still, I glanced at the upload page and might do well to add a couple lines.

<table width="90%" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="3" border="0"><tr><td class="quote">
- if it's an old truck, search first to be sure it's not already here
- if it's somebody else's truck, get them to upload it.

</td></tr></table>

Something like that. If a person is gong to defy common sense, it won't matter much what you say.

speaking of this, independent suspension that weejimmy uploaded ( http://mtm2.com/~trucks/dl.cgi?dl=4632 ) is actually camaro69's http://vales.com/MTM2/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2964

Thanks, metalicagod. You know, I even read the readme file and saw camaro69's name but for whatever reason nothing clicked. The truck is actually <a href="http://mtm2.com/~trucks/trucks.cgi?s=the+cricket">The Cricket</a> which has two versions available. The new upload has been turned off.

LOL! Camaro69 intended the independant suspension truck to be a kit for others to reuse for their own projects, but this is rediculous! WeeJimmy only changed the name of the zip! sheesh!
