Phin, I've noticed two things while browsing this forum over the last few weeks. The long term one is not really a bug but just a bit strange. When I look in Who is Online, and I see someone listed as posting a message, I often want to find out where they posted. 10 minutes later however and they have left and there is no new message. Are they just editing a message?
The other one is more annoying. Sometimes I go to post a message or edit one and when I click Submit, it previews. I then have to refresh the page and often lose all I wrote. Any suggestions?
P.S. Where's that clueless smiley when you need it. [:P]

Re: Forum bugs?
This can be caused by a few things. Most notable is there are currently several spam bots trying to exploit and flood the forum. There are measures in place to try and prevent that from happening. When I look in Who is Online, and I see someone listed as posting a message, I often want to find out where they posted. 10 minutes later however and they have left and there is no new message. There are currently several spam bots trying to exploit and flood the forum. One measure in place to try and prevent that from happening forces a time delay of ten seconds. That is, the post page must be loaded for ten seconds before you click submit. I "think" I've seen instances where it refreshes even after a ten second lag, but it's not consistent. In either case, just note the clock on your comp and resubmit. You should not lose work from a refresh. For long messages, it might be best to type things up in note pad, or a text editor, in case something goes wrong. That's usually sound advice for this or any other forum anyway. I do it, and I'm confident others do it too. Habits from the old days, you know.Sometimes I go to post a message or edit one and when I click Submit, it previews. I then have to refresh the page and often lose all I wrote.

What I don't seem to understand is, why the need to click refresh when previewing your text? I have never had to do so.
Also, when I type up a lengthy post, I do so in the forum, but I copy & paste it first into a text file before I click ANY preview or submit button...I've lost too many write-ups in the past....
My topic on shortcuts for mapping the sides of models was a good example.....The mtm2.com hard drive crash occured while I was in the middle of typing it, and when I hit SUBMT, I got a message saying the page could not be found...click the BACK button just took me back to the reply page with a blank text window.
Fortunately, I had saved the text before clicking the button, so I was able to re-submit the topic once the site was back up without having to re-type it.
