mtm2 patch problems

Post by white2098 »

Hey guys, i got a new computer not to long ago and after loosing my old mtm2 game and my truck projects etc, i wanted to start over with this computer.

so far i have had no luck finding the mtm2.iso file so i downloaded the game from a program (and checked it for viruses). The game works fine but it doesn't have an installation file so i cant properly install the game on to my computer. I can uninstall it, but i cant reinstall it.

What this all means is that apparently, with out the game properly installed, i cant install the patch because it says that it cant find monster truck madness 2 on my computer.

can any one help me out with this, or tell me if there is an iso file still available for download.

Well, I guess that answers the questions about that download. I might try it myself later to confirm. Meantime, you might try the method for patching the demo

http://cownap.com/~mtmg/demo.shtml

Skip down to part 3 and see if that'll help you out.

Gee, Phin, that's pretty interesting! I wish I'd known about the demo extending thing before I went out and bought it lol.

We don't. But in the absence of microsoft issuing another printing of the game, a little white hat thinking about potential options and resources is certainly a fair and reasonable topic for discussion.

I couldn't download the file, but I scrounged around and found the one I first checked. It installed and patched fine for me, so I have no idea what the problem could be with your set up.

Interesting, I've never looked at the version number before or after the patch.

Version 2.00.41 <a href="http://mtm2.com/~mtmg/pics/mtm2versioninstalled.jpg">installed</a>
Version 2.00.42 <a href="http://mtm2.com/~mtmg/pics/mtm2versionpatched.jpg">patched</a>

And I'm willing to bet the <a href="http://mtm2.com/~mtmg/pics/mtm2versioninprodID.gif">ProductID</a> could be all zeros (or the second half of it could be) for the demo but I've never tried it.
