Since you asked with a double please I would like to point out somthing you said that is right:
It is very difficult to provide a random example of using 1 / 256 of a foot.
I'd agree it's difficult to provide a random of example of the use of 6/5th of a mm.

If you must know, I don't think there are any MTM2 objects that are 1/256th of a foot long. The 256-units-to-one-foot thing is probably used for shaping truck bodies accurately; if the limit were 64 units to feet, for example, today's trucks would be considerably lower detailed.
