Hi there,
- I restored mtm2 to a new folder
- I used Cowpod.exe to fix the registry
- mtm2 runs fine
THEN I applied the patch (mtm2pat)
NOW I get the message "unable to open model: drvshaft.bin"
and no preview of the trucks is available.
If I just switch back to the original 'monster.exe' the problem is gone.
My pod.ini is as naked as possible, only original stuff in there.
Any help would be greatly apreciated!
Thanks,
Xiris

After patch: unable to open model: drvshaft.bin
drvshaft.bin is in the truck pod so it should be okay, as the original exe suggests. Maybe something went wrong when patching. Maybe redo it. If you didn't get the patch from here, then give this a try.

I don't know the original file date for the truck2.pod but mine is 5387 KB. If I can assume for a moment that you're not installing from the retail disk, then that might explain why the unpatched exe is working but the patched one is not. The shortest route to finding the problem is to just look in the pod. So, download podview, unzip it someplace and leave it there (eg /program files/podview/) and open the truck2.pod with it (say 'yes' when prompted for file associations) and see if drvshaft.bin is present and accounted for.

If it's not there, then we'll just have to find an unpodzipped truck for you to mount up. (any of the trucks on the '05 download page with a slightly larger file size should do the job).

@Phineus
cool advice (-:
- indeed on my CD the filesize of truck2.pod is like yours
- indeed the truck2.pod on my disk misses the drvshaft.bin
it seems, that somehow I managed to get a 'broken' version of truck2.pod on my disk. I just copied the original one from the original CD - all done!
Thanks a lot !!
