psp help

i FINALLY can make textures and all that, i make my own in psp and they look pretty good. it works in the game and all that but, when i try to color it a lil more, i cant use the colors i want. like i wanted to use black for a checked flag, i got brown, which was for my dirt, and white, the other day i only had grey black, and white..how can i get all the colors to show up in psp so i can paint?

increase the color to 16 million
