Need help installing MTM2 on Windows XP.

Post by Roadknight »

When i get to the part in the installation where it asks me where i want to install the game, i click OK to install it in C:/Programfiles/Microsoftgames/Monstertruckmadness2, then it comes up with with an error report saying it must close down.
Anyone else have this problem? Or know how do fix it?

Thanks.

if your using the CD:

open my computer > right click on the CD icon > properties > and somewhere in there it should say something like "compatibility" > click "run this program in compatibility for" and select windows xp OR 95.

then start up the setup and your gold.

I think that's probably the key ticket here. If you're installing from a download, then it's probably no good. To help ensure a good download, verify the file integrity using md5sum.

Phin is suggesting that if it was downloaded, the download may be corrupt or incomplete. Compatibility settings won't help if so.

I have a genuine CD of the game, i downloaded the game to see if that would work better, but it won't let me burn it to a CD.
It downloaded and is an ISO file, so i can't open it up with anything.

I have a problem with XP too. It instals and everything but when i hit the drive button in the game, it shows a black screen instead of the loading screen. The music still plays, but nothing happens.

Try using different graphics drivers.
