The Power Wheels mystery.

Post by Roadknight »

As most of us know, Monster Truck Madness 2 was originally supposed to have Power Wheels Bigfoot as a truck, but it is not in the final version.

Plus plenty have made what they believe it looked like.

The thing is, I don't think it looked like either or anything like either of these. I doubt it was ever a Ford F-150 body.

Look at the top picture on this page.

Image

That is clearly an MTM1 Ford body with MTM2 beta1 wheels.

Again, MTM1 trucks with beta1 wheels and axle bars.

Now, if we open up TRUCK2.POD in C-Pod, there is a file called POWERBIG.BIN. This is the same MTM1 Power Wheels body.

I believe the MTM2 Power Wheels was really just the MTM1 Power Wheels with beta1 wheels, axle bars and possibly axles and suspension.

Thank you Nome66, now I know which axles they were using for the MTM1 conversions.

My MTM2 manual is black and white, so the pictures are much clearer.

Mine's pink, like the pic, but after seeing my manual, yeah it does look like an MTM1 body.

By the time MTM2 was made, the Power Wheels body was not being used on any trucks, so it was effectively replaced by Firestone Wilderness. As sponsored alternate bodies for Bigfoot, they shared the same role in reality.

I wonder where you got that info. I read it on Wikipedia once, but that's about it, I have never seen any info about PW being a secret truck or something on the monter executable nor any game file.

The only *secret truck* was Chuck Carson's The Patriot MTM2. (Chuck's car) only available on beta-1 and probably beta-2, not sure.

And again, no one has a reference or proof for that. Chuck's car is The Patriot, cuz he made that truck back in 96, see patriot's readme for more info.
