dgVoodoo no fullscreen

Post by N_Gage_18 »

I was having the background clipping issue again on a new system and decided to install dgVoodoo. I copied all the dll files and .exe as per instructions and everything ran fine, but now when I try to enter a race I get an error message saying "Unable to open fullscreen" and the game either exits or opens in software mode. Also, now if I try to run the game in Direct3D, I get an error saying my graphics card can't handle MTM2's graphics acceleration and it automatically resets the game to software mode. Any ideas guys?

The only problem I can think of, which has happened to me is having more then one monitor. Might need to deactivate others.

Have you selected the correct resolutions? For example if you are using the glide (3dfx) version of voodoo, you selected only the 3dfx labeled resolutions?

Also make sure it's dgvoodoo version 2.54

Later versions have issues with the game.

I had all that done right, and still nothing. Eventually ended up switching to NGlide after a week of trying to play with it.

At least one of them works. nGlide is definitely more stable than dgVoodoo but Voodoo offers better performance when it works.
