Nice work on your first custom truck. It drives nice, and looks cool.

Couple of things need attention though....

1. You repainted some of the scrapyard part textures, but did not give them new names (body and axle models and textures).

Whenever you make changes to a pre-existing model or ...

Load your truck into Binedit, open the FACE menu and click on SELECT ALL....

Now go to GROUPS/SET GROUP FACE TYPE, and choose "0x29 SHINY TEXTURE (MTM2)", then save the model.

engines, fuel tanks, shock absorbers, radiators, etc are all just part of the body model, not essential items.

The only models required are a body, tires and axles (the chassis is part of the body model). The models can be anything, as long as they don't have too many vertices/polygons.

You ...

I wonder how they got the full version down to 47 megs? Being on dial-up, I'm not goingto try and find out at this time.

Yay! Cownap and Vales are mentioned on the MTM2 page...

$10? That should pay back all that game development investment money!

I'm programming MTM3 right now. I should have it ready by tomorrow, so check back.

You said that yesterday! [;)]

Virus claiming Bin Laden arrest fools few on Web

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) — A new computer virus in e-mails claiming that Osama Bin Laden has been arrested has failed to lure many users to open dangerous attachments, despite its high-profile headline, security software makers said Friday.

Aww. You should have left the picture for others to see. Someone else may encounter the same problem someday, and it could have proved helpful.

You were most likely retired before I showed up (late 2000), but I've seen your name countless times in scrapyards. Welcome back "old timer" [;)] Pull up a rocking chair and sit with us old farts for a spell.

I occasionallyy close off the front wells with a simple box in the middle to simulate an engine compartment, but I like to run the rear wheelwells all the way across the width of the body to create a cavity for the rear axle and diff. It all depends on the vehicle design. Just do it in whatever ...

The only thing about 3D treaded tires is that they can add a lot of game lag, depending on how much detail they may have. For this reason, 3D treaded tires never became popular in MTM2.

Cobra_GZ's 3D tires for EVO-1 and EVO-2 are a bit too laggy for Monster Truck Madness-2. Just one of his 66 ...

Are animated textures incompatible with C-pod?

I've been getting some emails from a new truck-maker who is having problems with animated textures going missing from trucks he makes with C-pod.

When I tried using it to re-pod a truck of mine that features animated engine textures, C-pod tells ...

Try searching your comp for *.TRK and see if anything turns up.

That was the advice I gave him earlier today when he posted the very same question in the Vales forum, but he never replied so I don't know if he found them or not.

Cadillac Escalade SUV's and Monster truck completed

I finally completed my Escalade project, using a modified version of the EVO2 GMC Jimmy as a base and creating all new textures for it.

I made 3 trucks in all. First I made the stock body in standard black with 16" wheels, then a custom painted version featuring detailed 22" spinners, and finally ...

I strongly recommend you install all those anti-spyware and anti-virus programs on the MTM2.COM page onto your machine and keep them up to date. The time to use those tools is BEFORE you get infected, not afterwards.

I do the same thing, except I store them in ZIP form, then unzip one when I need it. No need to occupy unnecessary disk space for archival reasons, even if you have plenty of space to use.
